Our Approach

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT is a form of psychotherapy that combines mindfulness and behavioral strategies to help individuals create a meaningful life while accepting difficult thoughts and feelings. ACT encourages psychological flexibility, which involves being open to emotions, staying present, and taking action aligned with personal values. ACT helps individuals reduce the impact of negative thoughts and emotions, fostering greater well-being and resilience.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. It helps individuals recognize how their thoughts, feelings, and actions are interconnected, and how distorted thinking can contribute to emotional distress. By learning to challenge and reframe negative thoughts, individuals can develop healthier, more realistic thinking patterns, leading to improved emotional well-being and behavior.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy is a client-centered approach that focuses on helping you connect with your true self and reach your fullest potential. It emphasizes empathy, self-acceptance, and personal growth, creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. This approach believes that you have the inner resources to heal and thrive, and the therapist’s role is to guide you in discovering and harnessing your strengths.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

CPT is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy specifically designed to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related conditions. CPT helps individuals identify and challenge distorted thoughts related to trauma, aiming to alter unhelpful thinking patterns that contribute to emotional distress. The therapy focuses on helping individuals understand how trauma has impacted their beliefs about themselves, others, and the world, and works toward developing healthier, more realistic thought patterns.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on exploring how unconscious thoughts, past experiences, and early relationships influence current behaviors and emotions. It encourages self-awareness and insight into internal conflicts, helping individuals understand patterns that may affect their mental health. By uncovering repressed feelings and unresolved issues, psychodynamic therapy aims to foster personal growth, emotional healing, and healthier relationships.

Motivational Interviewing (MI)

MI is a client-centered, collaborative counseling approach designed to enhance motivation for change, particularly in the context of behavior change, such as substance use, health behaviors, or mental health issues. MI focuses on resolving ambivalence by helping individuals explore and articulate their own reasons for change.

At Build and Bloom Therapy, our commitment is to provide high-quality therapy services with an innovative and compassionate approach. We strive to create a safe space for healing and personal transformation, supporting people on their journey to mental wellness.
